FARM TO FORK
FORK TO SOUL
John Mark Hirschi
From childhood, I was exposed to farming and ranching through my father’s occupation and continued that activity for several years on my own. After leaving that occupation, I became more and more involved with vegetable and fruit gardening as an avocation. Preparing the product of my garden became a great part of my life.
I also have great respect for the environment. I have avoided the use of chemical fertilizer, herbicides, and pesticides in my gardens and will avoid their use at FoxHill. Our food will be produced sustainably using vast quantities of compost and mulch to restore the land to its ancient quality before mankind’s abuse and degradation. Fortunately, most of the 8 acres of FoxHill have not been disturbed since this area was settled. Our goal is to produce healthy food to counter unhealthy eating habits resulting in an overweight, diabetes, cancer and heart disease prone citizenry.
